The area of the scalp that is most sensitive is commonly recognized as the nape of the neck. This region is particularly sensitive due to the concentration of nerve endings and the skin's thinner nature compared to other areas. In contrast, while the forehead, crown of the head, and base of the skull are regions of the scalp, they do not exhibit the same level of sensitivity as the nape of the neck. The forehead, being a front-facing area, is designed for protection and has a thicker skin layer. The crown of the head, although it may have some sensitivity, does not reach the same level as the nape. The base of the skull, while sensitive, generally has more muscular support and less skin exposure compared to the nape region. Thus, the nape of the neck stands out as the area with heightened sensitivity on the scalp.
